Vernier: colour concepts

August 21, 2006

nullThis is the entire list of colour schemes I whipped up for Darwin. Keeping in mind the Vernier had to look a little junky and rustic, he and I picked out #1 and #4 for the time being.
[Who knows, maybe we'll end up tweaking them some more.....]

nullAnd these are the aforementioned two colour schemes. You can also check out the previous prototypes for the Vernier here:

It’s official –

August 18, 2006

:D~!!

The sidestory is now a part of the Rotogin franchise; meaning featured content here can be published alongside the comics.

So far we’ve got 4 segments planned for the sidestory; the online version will be in b+w screentones while the published version will be in full colour for the sake of a final polish. Things are starting to take an interesting turn, got fingers crossed to see how all this comes out in the end.

The Vernier: mech concepts

July 28, 2006

So far, so good. Here’s some of the preliminary roughs Darwin drew up for Strachan and Milton’s mech. There’s a lot more to come on its finalizing stages, we should see a solid design come out pretty soon.

Here the following images will also have a little bit of Darwin’s commentary:

———————————————–

THUMBNAIL STAGE:
null
“The one concern I had designing this mech was that it needed to remain consistent with the design philosophy I created for the Rotogin lightweight division. These robots had to look compact, highly mobile, and be ready to inflict major damage. In terms of aesthetics, I decided to utilize a look similar to the ‘Carnage’ mech that appeared in issue 1. This thumbnail stage explores various visual and potential mechanical concepts that can be further developed. It really is quite messy.” Read the rest of this entry »
